Questions and Answers Bax metaal BV

Bax metaal B.V. has answered all questions from the live session.

Question: Floris Zoethout

Answer:

The machines are not for one specific material, but the tools on the machine that come into contact with the material are. That tool is interchangeable, so one machine can be used for more materials.

Question: Erik Rekkers

Answer:

The risk of incorrect product cutting is higher and the costs are higher. It only makes sense to do this if new rings are used with every program.

Question: Babu Shamanna

Answer:

No, the plate is loose on the laser bed

Question: Laurens van Lieshout

Answer:

Ja, de hoogte van het bed is een belangrijke parameter bij het snijden. Verandering in de hoogte moet geprogrammeerd worden.

Question: Floris Zoethout

Answer:

No, glass bead blasting and pickling are two different processes. When blasting, I remove discolouration and ensure a homogeneous appearance. I use pickling to remove any contamination that arises during the production process.

Question: Tom Raasveld

Answer:

15 minutes

Question: Jelte van Maanen

Answer:

Glass bead blasting and pickling are two different processes. When blasting, I remove discolouration and ensure a homogeneous appearance. I use pickling to remove any contamination that arises during the production process.

Question: Andre Bras

Answer:

Durability of the bed is an issue. Due to the harsh conditions it faces, there is no affordable alternative to date.

Question: Guust Konings

Answer:

  1. Both options are possible, with our laser we can indeed cut 2.5D.
  2. We cannot automatically correct errors in the 3D model. It is important that the supplied files are correct. Common issues are holes too close to the edge or radii that are not drawn and that contain the square tube.

Question: Jelte van Maanen

Answer:

Yes, there are some tricks that can be taken out. Like cutting the radius at a hole that is too close to the bend. We have more of these tricks and we can look at that on a case-by-case basis so if you have something current, please contact us.

Question: Laurens van Lieshout

Answer:

Cutting accuracy is according to ISO9013. As a general rule, we keep 0.2 mm. The Z height is indeed important. This should not hang too low above the plate because of collisions but also not too high because it simply does not cut. The z height is kept constant during cutting compared to the sheet by the machine.

Question: Jelte van Maanen

Answer:

I prefer to see welding indications where it is really important for the customer. For example, a small weld to avoid collision with another part, or a heavy weld because the part is loaded.

Question: Huub de Graaf

Answer:

Yes, we can also bend thinner than 1mm. For example, we also bend 0.5mm with some regularity.

Question: Paul van Emden

Answer:

Yes, we can also process carbon steel. The most convenient is to contact Mathijs Kox (m.kox@baxmetaal.nl) about the possibilities.

Question: Mas Geeven

Answer:

It is not the case that we do not process thinner than 1mm, but it is not preferred. Experience has shown that as we thin, the material is “blown away” by the laser. To prevent this, we fix the plate on the bed.

Question: Jan Alewijns

Answer:

We can also glasbeadblast aluminium products. We then lower the pressure for the process.

Question: Babu Shamanna

Answer:

Minimum plate thickness for threadedhole is 3x the pitch of that thread. For example, M6x1 is 3×1 = 3.

Question: Bram Versfeld

Answer:

To answer this question I would have to know what the roughness should meet.
