Fontys Hogescholen

The Fontys University of Applied Sciences is a well-known name in education, not only in Holland, but also in many other parts of the world and Fontys is the second largest institute of higher education in Holland. Almost all higher professional education programmes at Bachelor’s level that are available in Holland can be followed at the Fontys University of Applied Sciences. Fontys aims to be an educational institution that is ‘inspiring growth through support & challenges’ and to be an educational organization at which students can grow and learn to think more laterally, i.e. to ‘think bigger’. Fontys aims to achieve these objectives through the provision of support and challenges to its students, staff and all relevant stakeholders.

The education is organized well and provided in professional education environments. Fontys strives to achieve high quality, embedding its activities solidly within society, whilst achieving a leading position as a knowledge institution, both nationally and in its regional environments. Fontys is an organization with more than 4.300 employers and 44.000 students.

Quality is the key feature of the Fontys vision. Fontys strives to achieve a level of quality that will match that of any higher education institution in the European context. Fontys is one of the largest higher education institutions in the Netherlands with an education expertise in almost all sectors. There are 28 institutes and providing 85 bachelor courses in full-time , part-time , dual and in – service variants. Thereby, Fontys offers 40 master variants and six Associate degrees. Fontys has also a varied range of courses and trainings which are particularly given in the southern Netherlands. Besides education, Fontys focuses on 39 lectureships in research, knowledge, innovation and contract activities.
