The MDB technology allows the definition of dimensions and geometric tolerances as PMI directly on the 3D model. The MDB data not only replaces the drawing, it is also machine-readable, especially when defined according to the ISO GPS (Geometric Product Specification) system. In this way, ZEISS CALYPSO can create an inspection plan automatically from the MDB.
