Oerlikon

Innovative solutions for industrial applications.

This can be achieved by using state-of-the-art materials, surface technologies and manufacturing technologies. These technologies can create products that make more with less – better performance, more capabilities and longer life, while using less energy, reducing costs and using fewer raw materials. Oerlikon’s mission is to provide its customers with this kind of competitive advantage through advanced materials and surfaces.

Oerlikon’s long-term growth strategy is to become the world leader in surface solutions, advanced materials and materials processing.

PVD coating

Amongst the DLC coatings, ta-C are particularly promising because of their superior hardness (40 to 60 GPa). The technology presented allows the application of these hard coatings independently of the electrical conductivity of the substrate and at a temperature below 100°C.

Additive manufacturing

Additive manufacturing

A layer of spherical metal powder is deposited on a build platform and melted selectively by laser (typically 40-90 micron powder layers). The process is repeated layer by layer and executed in a vacuum chamber or inert gas atmosphere. The completed part is welded onto the buildplate and typically post processed through heat treatment, build support removal and EDM cutting the part from the buildplate.
