Additive Manufacturing / Direct Metal Printing
3D Systems Leuven’s facility (formerly LayerWise) is a competence centre for Direct Metal Printing technology also known as Metal Additive Manufacturing. It targets both serial production and prototyping. The technology produces the optimum shape of complex freeform parts in a single manufacturing step, in any preferred metal (alloy), using less material and no scrap.
Key is the collaboration with customers. 3D Systems Leuven aims to set up partnerships with its customers, where in a project approach 3D Systems Leuven and the customer together address the functionality of the part design and selection of the most suitable metal alloy. In consecutive project phases the upscaling from prototyping to serial production is realized.
In addition to countless industrial applications, 3D Systems Leuven manufactures revolutionary medical and dental implants.
