Additive Manufacturing / Direct Metal Printing
3D Systems Leuven’s facility (formerly LayerWise) is a competence centre for Direct Metal Printing technology also known as Metal Additive Manufacturing. It targets both serial production and prototyping. The technology produces the optimum shape of complex freeform parts in a single manufacturing step, in any preferred metal (alloy), using less material and no scrap.
Key is the collaboration with customers. 3D Systems Leuven aims to set up partnerships with its customers, where in a project approach 3D Systems Leuven and the customer together address the functionality of the part design and selection of the most suitable metal alloy. In consecutive project phases the upscaling from prototyping to serial production is realized.
In addition to countless industrial applications, 3D Systems Leuven manufactures revolutionary medical and dental implants.

For over twenty five years we have revolutionized product development through the application of SLA® (Stereolithography), SLS® Systems (Selective Laser Sintering) and DMP; (Direct Metal Printing) Production 3D Printers to generate concept models, precision and functional prototypes, master patterns and molds for tooling, and real end-use parts. Our customers have helped us push the boundaries of what’s possible with production 3D printing and the results are well worth the effort.
